INFLUENCER 4 PEACE (I4P) PROJECT

Dream Achievers Youth Organization (DAYO) is excited to announce our partnership with DW Akademie on the realization of the "Influencer 4 Peace" project. This initiative aimed at fostering peace-building dialogues and empowering young people while strengthening their capacities as influential leaders for peace in the coastal region of Kenya.

As part of this project, twelve young individuals will be carefully selected and trained in the competencies of Media Information Literacy (MIL), leadership and advocacy. The objective is to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to serve as role models, particularly on social media platforms, and to effectively pass on this knowledge to their peers, especially in the area of MIL.

Through direct engagement with their communities, these young influencers will sensitize others to recognize propaganda and disinformation. By initiating dialogue and encouraging exchange, they aim to enable young people to make informed decisions and become more resilient to radicalization.

The "Influencer 4 Peace" project recognizes the power of digital media in shaping public opinion and believes that young people can play a crucial role in promoting peace and countering narratives that perpetuate violence or division. By harnessing the potential of social media, these influencers will inspire positive change and encourage dialogue that fosters understanding, tolerance, and unity.

At DAYO, we believe that empowering young people with the skills to navigate the digital landscape responsibly and critically is essential for promoting peace and countering the spread of misinformation. Through this partnership with DW Akademie, we are confident that the "Influencer 4 Peace" project will contribute significantly to building resilient communities and promoting a culture of peace among the youth in the coastal region of Kenya.
